Authors have a beautiful way of saying things. They spin things so beautifully that I am besotted. So here are a compilation of my favourite quotes from the book I read. Few beautiful, few hurting as it points out the truth and few life changing.

So here goes the list.

1. The Shiva Trilogy

It tops the list. Just loved the books. Here are the quotes:
a) “Truth doesn’t have to be liked. It only has to be spoken. Speak it out. The truth may hurt you, but it will set you free.”

b) “The opposite of love is not hate. Hate is just love gone bad. The actual opposite of love is apathy. When you don’t care a damn as to what happens to the other person.”

c) “A person’s ethics and character are not tested in good times. It is only in bad times that a person shows how steadfast he is to his dharma.”

d) “The most powerful force in a woman’s life is the need to be appreciated, loved and cherished for what she is.”

There are much more.  If you haven’t read it yet. I recommend you read it.

2. Harry Potter series

a) “If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.”

b) “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”

c) “It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be.”

d) “Wit beyond measure is a man’s greatest treasure.”

3. The Fault In our Stars & Looking For Alaska

a) “My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations.”

b) “Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”

c)”You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world…but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.”

d) “Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.”

e) “The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive.”

f)”The world is not a wish granting factory.”

4. Love,Rosie

a)”Our life is made up of time; our days are measured in hours, our pay measured by those hours, our knowledge is measured by years. We grab a few quick minutes in our busy day to have a coffee break. We rush back to our desks, we watch the clock, we live by appointments. And yet your time eventually runs out and you wonder in your heart of hearts if those seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years and decades were being spent the best way they possibly could. In other words, if you could change anything, would you?”

b)”That’s what life is about: People come and go.”

5. Life Is what you make it & It happens for a reason

a) “If you have not made somebody’s day happier, if you’ve not appreciated something good that has happened to you and if you have not felt thankful to be alive, then you have wasted that day of your life on earth!”

b) “Never belittle love”

c) “Yes, when you are passionate about something, it shows. There is no point doing something that does not make you feel happy just to earn money. If you hate what you are doing, you are then just wasting your life,”
